Petrino Macaluso and Leticia Amato

Petrino Macaluso was born about June 1839 in Prizzi, Palermo, Sicily to Silvestri Macaluso (b. ~1815) and Anna Carpneri (b. ~ 1823). Leticia Amato was also born in Prizzi about 1849 to Luciano Amato (b. ~1820) and Maria Grazia Raimondi (b. ~ 1825). They were married in Prizzi around 1845.

The preceding information was obtained from microfilms from the Genealogical Library of the Church of the Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah by Shirley Rizzuto.

We know that Petrino and Leticia had at least two children, Anna Macaluso and Rosario Macaluso. We are in possession of a letter written by Rosario Macaluso to his nephew Francis Costa dated 1945. In it he speaks of the death of his son as a prisoner of War in Germany. I will be including a translation of that letter on this page soon.
